A Portland man’s cute animated shorter about friendship, love, and ‘getting through tough times’ is producing countless numbers of smiles.

Born of grief, when his nephew died unexpectedly, Steve Cowden put in most of 2020 working on the online video for the duration of lockdown, and now hopes to pitch it as a heartwarming sequence.

Immediately after a relatives accumulating to honor the nephew, Cowden’s 22-calendar year-previous son Trent began spontaneously actively playing chords on the old piano.

“My twin brother Scott joined in with singing the words and phrases ‘Chocolate Cake and Ice Product.’ We had just eaten dessert and he sang the foolish text, I feel, to lighten our hearts,” Cowden informed GNN.

“I was upstairs with my mom and the tune was so sweet that I ran downstairs to be component of the instant. We all sang in harmony together. It kind of felt magical and appeared to enable us. It was just a jingle at the time but it caught with me.”

Immediately after returning to Oregon, whilst commuting to perform, he started singing it and adding a lot more words. He pulled out his voice memo application and manufactured some recordings. Cowden has been an illustrator for 30 decades, and in 2000 he did the artwork for a children’s ebook entitled Cheese Louise. Since releasing the video, Steve has dreamed up further characters, and composed much more episodes that he hopes can be make them into a series.
