A 98-12 months-outdated D-Working day veteran has recreated a photograph taken with a Belgian boy whose family members took him in 76 yrs in the past.

George ‘Bunny’ Avery was a sapper in the Royal Engineers and part of the 2nd wave of troops to land on Normandy’s Sword Beach front shorelines on D-Day, 6 June 1944.

On that fateful day, he was dropped near to the shoreline by his landing craft, and as he produced his way to the beach front he said he “just held running.” In his brain, he was telling himself, “Keep your head down boy!”
